    What's New at AOI

    Welcome to Autism Outreach Inc.’s

    Winter Camp 2009 program!

Autism Outreach Inc. strives to provide a language based social learning experience through the use of ABA methodology (Verbal Behavior and RDITM techniques) in a camp setting. On a daily basis, our students are challenged to meet individualized personal goals while participating in an exciting and educational group setting.

In addition, our summer services include intensive one on one therapy, which is designed to strengthen the skills necessary for successful group participation. We meet the needs of our students through the use of highly trained and enthusiastic staff who come to us from a variety of educational backgrounds and all have the common goal of promoting and generalizing language and social skills.

We work with children ranging from ages 2-15 and varying skill levels. Once registration and necessary additional paperwork is received, our students are placed into smaller breakout groups that allow them to learn and socialize with children of similar age and skill levels.

    1:1 Sessions

One to one sessions will meet in the mornings from 8 to 10. In addition to the morning session, we will be holding one to one sessions in the afternoons after our group camps. These will be held from 4 to 6 pm every day. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in any of these sessions, so that we can coordinate our therapists’ schedules with your family’s!

    Group Sessions

We will continue to hold a group session from 10 to 4 every day. During this time, the children will participate in a variety of themed activities that are designed using primarily verbal behavior techniques. The campers will also participate in art and social play activities. AOI has a variety of qualified staff to work with your children, with at least one consultant on staff every day. We will also continue to provide a 3:1 student to staff ratio, with the option for a 1:1 aide to work with your child when recommended by your consultant.

    New Clients

If your child is not currently a client of our company, you will be required to fill out a pre-registration form. Because of the staff resources required for your child’s needs, the cost per day may vary. We will inform you as soon as we receive the pre-registration form of your child’s placement and cost.

    Location

Camp will be held in our office: 11335 Sunset Hills Road, Reston VA 20190. Please send an easy to serve snack- we have a refrigerator and a microwave. If your child requires any special accommodations, please provide them in writing to our camp director, at socialskills@autismoutreach.org.
