    Power Days

Some of the children and teens we work with need more support, role modeling, or practice in our social groups.  This group uses a mixture of staff to student ratios to probe, model, and teach our students.  Power Day groups meet on the same days as the student’s designated Social Group days in an effort to promote continuity and generalization to the larger group setting.  Below is a schedule of a Power Day with the skills that will be targeted during each section:

    1pm-3pm
    Ratio is 1:2
During this time we probe a variety of skills, such as social skills, games, language, etc.
We then use this information to work on things that can be done with another peer, such as manding to peers, joint attention and referencing.

    3pm-4pm
    Ratio is 1:1
Any skills that have been identified as an area of need in the 1:2 ratio are worked on individually at this time.

    4pm-6pm
    Ratio is 1:3
    Social group
At the end of the day, we work on the skills your child has learned in the 1:2 structured setting and then generalize them to a larger group.
