Kindergarten Kickoff
Kindergarten is a vital year for our children’s academic, social, and emotional development. Unfortunately, some of our children falter as they transition from a less structured preschool environment to a kindergarten classroom, which contains a new more structured skill-set. Consequently, we have developed a Kindergarten program that is designed to directly work on these new skills in an effort to help our children function as effectively as possible in mainstream classrooms.
We will focus on the following skills:
- Independence (Centers)
- Transitions (Centers)
- Regulation/Interpretation of Situations (Centers)
- Language Development (Morning Meeting)
- Raising Hand (for permission/attention/help)
- Manding (Snack)
- Gross Motor
- Sensory
